It seems that James Bond 26 has found its director. This information has been confirmed through a private newsletter from Jeff Snyder and Matthew Veroni, and recently, director Alfonso Cuarón mentioned it in an interview in France. Cuarón is known for acclaimed films like “Gravity” and “Roma,” as well as directing what many consider the best installment of the Harry Potter series, “Prisoner of Azkaban,” which earned a total of 10 Oscar nominations for the latter two films.

He is an ideal choice for producers David Heyman and Amy Pascal, having been chosen by Amazon MGM to helm the project. Cuarón and Heyman share a close friendship due to their work on the Harry Potter franchise. Heyman and Pascal are known for their excellent taste and successful track record with major films.

This development puts an end to the speculation that Christopher Nolan would direct a James Bond film. As a Mexican director, Cuarón brings a much-needed international flair to the Bond franchise. The discussion now shifts to who will portray 007. The next actor must be British, ruling out Australians, which points to Aaron Taylor-Johnson as a strong contender despite ongoing rumors.

Henry Cavill was also a fan favorite, but at age 41, he’s considered too old for the role. In contrast, Aaron Taylor-Johnson is 34, though he may seem older. Additionally, there is curiosity about who will perform the next James Bond theme song, with Adele potentially gearing up for a comeback by 2027, and many wondering if it’s time for Diane Warren to pen the track.
