Mainland China’s Potterhead has a reason to celebrate! A new Harry Potter Studio Tour is scheduled to open in Shanghai in 2027.
Warner Bros Discovery and Jinjiang International have been working together to bring magical worlds of magic to Jinjiang Action Park, a Shanghai amusement park currently undergoing renovations. The park is scheduled to reopen in 2027.

While Beijing already has the world of Universal Studios’ Harry Potter Wizards, this new studio tour offers a unique behind-the-scenes experience. Just like its well-received tours in London and Tokyo, Shanghai attractions immerse visitors in the magic of filmmaking that brings the beloved Harry Potter series to life. Guests can expect to interact with memory cabinet props, watch the big halls, and uncover the secrets behind the film’s special effects.
Shanghai’s Harry Potter Studio Tour is expected to cover approximately 53,000 square meters, and it can take about half a day to explore the attraction. More details are pending as regulatory approval has not yet been granted. This appeal is intended to captivate audiences by leveraging the popularity of the Harry Potter film franchise in China and providing a unique perspective on the filmmaking process that makes use of this beloved series. .
