HBO may have discovered that the principal of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry has adapted to the TV series in the Harry Potter book series.
The veteran actor plays a role in the Oscar-nominated Conclave, then seen alongside Jeffrey Rush in the hot horror of Jenny Penn’s Rules (see trailer). If the deal closes, Lithgow, the six-time Emmy winner, will become the first official cast of the Harry Potter series and follow in the footsteps of Richard Harris and Michael Gambon, who played Wizard in the Warner Bros. film series (Fantastic) (Juderow as a young incarnation of the character in the Beast spinoff).
There is no official casting news from HBO yet, but various actors are linked to parts, and rumors are like Mark Leylanth, Professor Snape, Sharon Hogan, Leslie Manville as Professor McGonagall’s Leslie Manville It has been dumped before. Brett Goldstein as Hagrid and Chilean Murphy as Lord Voldemort. Whether any of them will eventually join the series, we will have to wait, but with HBO targeting the second half of 2026 premiere, it won’t be long until the cast gather .
