Starring in the new Harry Potter series is undoubtedly a dream that many aspiring young actors have. And apparently, it is also one of the 40-year-old dreams.

When HBO announced an open casting call for the roles of Hermione, Ron and Harry in September 2024, more than 30,000 audition tapes were sent in response.

Among them was an audition from a 42-year-old man trying out some of Hermione Granger.

According to CBR, the team of casting agents shifts thousands of auditions every day, referring to the original story in the Daily Mail.

The age range for the main role was usually between 9 and 11 years.

Naturally, the man who tested his luck (and remains unknown for at least for now) has not successfully made his bid to play Hermione.

Currently, no major roles or other actors have been confirmed as part of this Harry Potter reboot.

However, there are many rumors that they are trying to narrow down which role they are playing.

The latest speculation that sent fans into Overdrive is that Dumbledore from HBO has been discovered.

Nothing has been officially confirmed, but gossip is enough to fuel new debates among fans. And also talk.

One source of intense debate is Cillian Murphy’s alleged role in the show.

This kind of decision will take time due to HBO’s commitment to sourcing “some of the UK’s best talents.”

Still, the development of the show is said to be moving at a steady pace as HBO continues to try to keep the book as “faithful” as possible.

Naturally, this means that casting agents will need to make tough calls for Hermione’s role and turn down the 42-year-old man.

Maybe one day we can get a glimpse into what the magical world is like in that version of Hermione, but now it’s not time.
