A young man was sentenced to prison for advertising drugs for sale on social media with a username derived from a character in the Harry Potter series. Lewis Breen-Ledger, 19, operated on Instagram and Snapchat under the name "Dobby’s Packs." He admitted to the charges and received a four-and-a-half-year sentence from Royal Birmingham Court after authorities executed search warrants at his residence in Halesowen.
In May, officers raided his home, seizing cash, various drugs including cocaine and cannabis, and weapons, including three knives, along with rubber masks and figures resembling Dobby, the house-elf from Harry Potter.
After being initially arrested and released on bail with strict conditions, Breen-Ledger was found to have cloaked his social media activities by rebranding to "Highland Exotic" and continued his drug trade. A follow-up investigation led to another search warrant at his home, where police confiscated a cell phone and marijuana, resulting in his arrest.
He was charged with seven drug-related offenses and was sentenced on March 27. This included two charges for possession of a Class B controlled substance with intent to supply, and one for a Class A drug. Breen-Ledger also pleaded guilty to unrelated driving offenses, including causing serious injuries to two individuals due to dangerous driving incidents.
Detective Sergeant Adam Buzzard from West Midlands Police stated that Breen-Ledger had been involved in drug dealing since the age of 16 and had continued his operations even while under police supervision.
