The eagerly awaited reboot of HBO’s Harry Potter is scheduled to start filming this summer, but with no official cast members announced yet, fans are becoming concerned about who will portray the beloved characters.

In April 2023, HBO announced its collaboration with Warner Bros. to reboot Harry Potter for television for the first time.

Fans will have the opportunity to re-experience the story of the boy who lived over several seasons. Although there were indications of a confirmed cast last week, it appears there may have been a mistake, and the casting process is back to the beginning.

On February 25, actor John Lithgow informed Screenland that he had received an offer to play Dumbledore. He expressed surprise at the offer and shared that he was at the Sundance Film Festival when he received the call. He described the decision as challenging, given the significance of the role in his life, especially with so much interest in Harry Potter.

However, HBO later clarified that this offer had not been officially confirmed. They acknowledged that a high-profile series like this will naturally provoke rumors and speculation, adding that they focus on details only after finalizing agreements during pre-production.

Previous reports from Variety also mentioned that HBO is considering actor Mark Rylance for the role of the headmaster at Hogwarts, but this information has yet to be officially verified. It seems that the casting process for the Harry Potter reboot is still ongoing, and for now, fans should be cautious about taking rumors or unconfirmed reports at face value.
