In case you missed it, Bloomsbury has partnered with Levi Pinfold for a special illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Following its release in October 2026, they also revealed plans to illustrate the series’ final book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Although the name might not be familiar to everyone, Pinfold has previously collaborated on Harry Potter projects, including the Hogwarts House Edition and the Wizard Almanac.

Pinfold will be taking over from Jim Kay, who illustrated the first five books but had to pause his work due to health issues. This has led many fans to believe that the illustrated series might not reach completion, but Pinfold’s involvement is seen as a suitable alternative to finishing it with Kay.

“Wow, I need to revisit all these comments. I’m glad they’ve completed these,” one fan responded to the news. Another expressed relief, saying, “Great news. I was concerned they might stop after the Order of the Phoenix.”

A third fan remarked, “So now I have to wait patiently for 18 months.”

It remains uncertain how much the illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will cost upon its release next year. Bloomsbury has provided a sneak peek of the illustrations fans can look forward to.
