The HBO adaptation of “Harry Potter” is gradually moving forward, but we are still a ways off from seeing it on screen. However, more details continue to emerge as time goes on.

The series was initially announced in 2023 alongside the launch of Max, HBO’s rebranded streaming service. Similar to Disney+’s “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” it hasn’t been officially confirmed that each season will correspond to a single book, but it is expected that, like the movies, each novel will be covered in a first-grade format.

Here’s what we know about the series so far.

As for the release date, filming has yet to begin, meaning there’s no official date announced yet. Filming is anticipated to start this summer, with reports suggesting a possible release sometime in 2027.
