A new character has been introduced to the wizarding universe. If you’re into theme parks, you might know that Universal Orlando Resort is set to launch a new park this May. Currently, Universal Orlando includes Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, along with the water park, Volcano Bay. Soon, it will be joined by the much-anticipated Epic Universe theme park. This new park will feature several beloved franchises across five themed areas: Celestial Park, Dark Universe, How to Train Your Dragon – Berk Island, Super Nintendo World, and the Harry Potter Magical World – Ministry of Magic.
Fans of Harry Potter in Florida can already explore Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade, but the Ministry of Magic is on its way and will enhance that experience once the new area opens. Additionally, a Harry Potter television reboot is set to begin filming this year. The new land will transport visitors to two different eras of the Ministry of Magic: the 1920s, as seen in the Fantastic Beasts franchise, and 1990s London.
The centerpiece ride, named the Battle in the Ministry with Harry Potter, involves riders getting swept into a trial involving Dolores Umbridge after traveling to the Ministry through the Floo Network. Much like the existing Harry Potter rides, this one is expected to be a state-of-the-art experience.
Today, I want to share details about a new character debuting alongside the ride. Universal has unveiled images of Higgledy, a former house elf who served Dolores Umbridge. This character has been specifically designed for the Epic Universe park, making her an interesting addition. There are no details about Higgledy’s feelings towards her former owner, but she does share some traits with Umbridge.
Higgledy is depicted in the images wearing Umbridge’s shoes and jewelry while in her former office, suggesting an engaging scene for riders to witness. It’s exciting to get a preview of the magical world dynamics following Voldemort’s defeat. More information will be revealed once the theme park and ride officially open on May 22nd.
