Avalanche Software, the studio that developed Hogwarts Legacy, seems to be working on a Harry Potter online RPG. While the Utah-based company is already focusing on Hogwarts Legacy 2, WB Games has reportedly expanded the studio into two project teams.

Before creating Hogwarts Legacy, Avalanche Software was not recognized as one of the top studios. Their prior work primarily involved mid-tier licensed games, with the most recent title before Hogwarts Legacy being 2017’s Cars 3: Driven to Win. This background is relevant due to several job postings and recent leaks.

Avalanche Software has posted multiple job openings for roles related to “online multiplayer RPGs.” Since Hogwarts Legacy is currently not an online multiplayer game, it’s unlikely these positions pertain to its sequel, unless significant changes are planned for it.

It appears that Avalanche is indeed developing a separate online multiplayer RPG. Though it’s not guaranteed that this will be a Harry Potter game, the studio’s future seems closely linked to the franchise due to the success of Hogwarts Legacy and the value of the IP to WB. Additionally, given that Avalanche’s past successes have largely revolved around established IPs, it seems improbable that WB will assign them a project unrelated to Harry Potter.

Moreover, notable leaker XoxLeak, known for Marvel-related leaks, has shared insights from a survey designed for potential playtests of the game. The survey inquired about preferences regarding menu- and lobby-based systems, as well as features like space navigation, character customization, community aspects, and profile personalization, including badges, titles, characters, and animated backgrounds.

Currently, there are no official details available, and this leak is taken with a grain of skepticism. However, updates will be provided if new information emerges. In the meantime, we’d love to hear your thoughts: Are you interested in a Harry Potter Online Multiplayer RPG from the developers of Hogwarts Legacy?
