HBO has revealed the initial casting for the upcoming Harry Potter television series, which includes John Lithgow and Paapa Essiedu.

This new series is inspired by the book series by J.K. Rowling, which has gained immense popularity as a film franchise featuring stars like Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint.

HBO has announced the first six cast members for the Harry Potter TV adaptation:

Nick Frost as Hagrid, John Lithgow as Dumbledore, Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch, Luke Thallon as Quirinus Quirrell, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, and Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall.

Who is Paul Whitehouse?

Paul Whitehouse, a Welsh actor, will portray Argus Filch in the Harry Potter series, taking over the role from David Bradley, who depicted the character in the films.

The 66-year-old actor hails from Stanleytown, Rhondda (South Wales), and has three daughters: Molly, Sophie, and Lauren.

He is recognized for his performance in the BBC comedy sketch show “The Fast Show.”

According to IMDB, Whitehouse was so beloved that he contributed articles during his time as the show’s manager.

Additionally, he has appeared in various films, including “The Death of Stalin” (2017) and “Corpse Bride” (2005).

Recently, Whitehouse took on the role of Grandad in the musical adaptation of “Only Fools and Horses.”
