John Lithgow will play Dumbledore in the future Harry Potter

The show will break tradition, but he is more than he can play the role. The series’ popularity has taken the world by storm since Harry Potter was first released as a set of fantasy books in 1997. However, it was the film that really sealed the series as a global phenomenon in 2001, and solidified these stories as a pivotal part of the culture for a generation of children who grew up watching and reading them. .

But one thing that remains constant throughout the series despite its global popularity is how clearly it feels to be British. From the inclusion of Prevet Drive in a small British cul-de-dead cul-de-sac to the spectacular Hogwarts somewhere on the rolling hills of England, the series is firmly set on British islands. And based on that aspect, the film followed the firm rules of casting primarily British and Irish actors in most roles. However, the Harry Potter show, made for HBO, has threw this rule if the report on John Lithgow is in final talks to play the role of Dumbledore.

Dumbledore casting in Harry Potter’s remake could break the rules of major movies

Harry Potter’s film was very selective when it comes to casting.

Harry Potter films have solid rules in place to cast only British and Irish actors for most roles, so they capture the magic and mystery of their setting and continue to set it firmly in place. It was helpful. But now, if casting is open for important characters like Dumbledore, then the show must assume that it will create further considerations for other actors and discard this rule completely. Nevertheless, the series is scheduled to be filmed in the UK and, given the main roles of Harry, Ron and Hermione, they all need to be children.

While upcoming Harry Potter TV shows will be working on As Development Gears Up, the pace of the episode will become an important part of the puzzle.

But when it comes to everyone else, the rules regarding British and Ireland-only actors seem to be relaxed. And while this can change the tone of the show and introduce room for the show, it can feel so clearly British, but there’s little to worry about Lithgow. In fact, the veteran actor has the wealth of experience and talent to put him in a very strong position to tackle such a critical character, even if he is not from the UK. Masu.

John Lithgow is perfect for Albus Dumbledore, despite being actually an American

Lithgow will absolutely nail Dumbledore’s role

John Lithgow fits perfectly into the physical profile of characters like Dumbledore. He has no long-flowing white beard, but neither Richard Harris nor Michael Gambon, but both older men in the Sprite who had enough energy despite their age It was. Furthermore, Lithgow is kind to him, who can invoke sympathy, integrity and friendship, but he also has the scope to present as authority and asserts gravity in his role.

I went to a drama school in London many years ago. So there are this kind of English threads. I’m in English so that American actors can pretend to be pure. When you think about Churchill, he is just as different to all the other British people as the Americans. He is eccentric. They loved the idea. They said they saw all the sir play Churchill. I’ve seen Burton do that. And Albert Finney does that. And then there was their raft that year. And all of them are British. Churchill’s mother was American in one thing. That’s the first thing Stephen told me when I asked him why you cast me. And he had this affinity for America. I might be afraid to play this role, but they think it’s a great idea so I’ll go with it.

    – John Lithgo as Winston Churchill in the Crown

Lithgow has played a variety of characters, from Dexter’s serial killer to an eccentric alien leader who disguises himself as a third-lock college professor from the Sun. And as far as Britt goes, Lithgow played Winston Churchill very effectively in the crown, and recently portrayed Roald Dahl in the West End. Lithgow should never have any problems nailing the accent and delivering all the different aspects to the character.

John Lithgow’s previous role proves he can handle Dumbledore in the Harry Potter Show

Lithgow has extensive experience playing a wide range of characters

As mentioned before, Lithgow has appeared in many films and TV shows during his career. In fact, he has been in a total of nearly 140 credit roles since 1972. Unlike other performers, Lithgow avoids typecasting. In Shrek, he played the leading antagonist, Lord Farquad, commanding his voice and refined his ability to deliver seductive performances without the aid of his physicality. In the third rock, Lithgow is much more physical, and learns to play and blend in as an alien hidden among humans.

The Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone film has created unnecessary misunderstandings that have been going on for decades, but the HBO remake can set things up right.

Beyond this, he appeared in major films like Twilight Zone, lending his voice to Yoda’s character in several drama adaptations. Lithgow is highly qualified and professionally talented. He is a performer and can tackle all the different aspects of complex characters like Dumbledore. And given that Harry Potter’s television shows are expected to last nearly a decade in nearly a few seasons, we need a dedicated, quality actor who can continue in this role for years to come.
