    Warner Bros.

Director Chris Columbus, best known at the time for “Home Alore,” during the first Harry Potter film released in 2001, was released as a member of the film, and was named Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson as Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermi Angranger. This word was introduced and placed. They are in a magical world loved by fans of this series. So why did Columbus direct the first film, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” (or “The Philosopher’s Stone” if you’re outside of America) and then followed it in “The Secret Room,” Leaving the franchise as is, director? Simply put, the man was really tired.

In a retrospective with the Hollywood Reporter in 2021, Columbus celebrated the 200 Harry Potter film franchise, claiming that both “The Sorcerer’s Stone” and “The Secret Room” had a very difficult shooting schedule. I’ve explained it. “The Magician’s Stone took a 160-day shooting, which is ridiculously long,” Columbus recalled. “And right after filming was stopped, I began filming another 160-day “secret room.” Naturally, Columbus shared that he “barely able to speak” and that he was “emotionally and physically exhausted” after making two films.

Worse, Columbus had an astonishing perception. Filming for “Harry Potter” meant he was constantly leaving his family at critical times. “I didn’t see any kids. I was younger at the time, but I grew up,” he said. “I missed dinner with them. “I can’t do the last six, seven, eight years. My kids are growing up and I never know them.” He came aside and another director took the next installment, “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban”…but Columbus stuck with limited abilities.

Known for films like “Y Tu Mamá También” and the film adaptation of “Little Princess” at that time, Alfonso Cuarón boarded to direct “Prisoner of Azkaban”, and Chris Columbus remained as a producer . “As a producer, I don’t have to be there all the time,” Columbus explained. “I can attend a set of several hours a day. I can sit at a meeting of certain visual effects, but I can go home in time for dinner and go to school in the morning to my kids. You can do it. With the time “Azkaban” over and my family is back in America, it felt like a logical time to say goodbye. ”

Currently Kualon is known for directing “Prisoner of Azkaban,” but a few years later, he has been in the 2013 space drama “Gravity,” and has been his tough yet dystopian film “Children of Men” has been released. “The Mexican-born filmmaker won the Academy Award for Best Director. In 2018, Quaron won the best photo nomination at the Oscars and two more trophies for Quaron himself. He directed the film “Rome.” However, when it comes to his influence on “Harry Potter,” it is no understatement to say that the dark, stylized tones set by Quaron set the rest of the standard for the film franchise.

To be fair, Harry Potter’s tone is that in “Prisoner of Azkaban,” there is a convicted murderer named Sirius Black (Gary Oldman), and he says, “Harry Potter.” ‘ tone will automatically dim after “Church of Secrets.” Hunt Harry; the resolution is actually even stranger, as it turns out that Ron’s pet rat happens to be an animagus and a wizard, the real killer in question. (It’s Peter Pettigrew, played by Timothy Spall). Then, in “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,” Robert Pattinson’s handsome Halfrpuff Champion Cedric Degree appears to be another year at Hogwarts’ School of Magic and Magical Magic. He was killed in cold blood by Pettigrew and soon became a revived Voldemort. Things don’t get that lighter from there.

This was followed by Mike Newell and David Yates, who took over after Alfonso Quaron left the franchise, and Newell said that the “Goblet of Fire” was the “Phoenix of the Phoenix” and “Order of the Phoenix.” “Half Bood Prince” and that he took on both parts. There was a great tone set for them by Kualon in “The Prisoner of Azkaban” of “Deathly Hallows”. The award-winning director assured that the Harry Potter series would become even more mature and darker thanks to his work in The Prisoner of Azkaban. If you want to watch the progression, all the films are currently streaming on Peacock.
