Deadline reports that Janet McTeer is “in talks” for this iconic role within the Harry Potter universe.
The Emmy and Oscar-nominated actress is well-known for her portrayal of Mary Joe Walker in Tumbleweed.
Moreover, it has been revealed that Paapa Essiedu may take on the renowned character of Severus Snape, originally played by Alan Rickman.
However, it’s important to note that HBO has not officially confirmed any casting decisions at this point.
The network has previously stated, “We appreciate that a beloved series like this will generate various rumors and speculation. We’ll provide details once we finalize the agreements during pre-production.”
As it stands, the only officially confirmed cast member for the Harry Potter HBO series is John Lithgow, who will portray Albus Dumbledore.
