In 2023, HBO announced a live-action reboot of Harry Potter, a production company known for shows like Game of Thrones, Band of Brothers, and The Last of Us. While specific details about the reboot remain unclear at this time, there are indications that updates will directly influence the upcoming Hogwarts Legacy 2.
We also learned who will portray Professor Albus Dumbledore and Severus Snape, but the roles of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley have not yet been assigned. The casting for Professor Umbridge, previously portrayed by Dame Imelda Staunton, is also unconfirmed, but fans seem to have a strong candidate in mind: Olivia Colman (CBE).
